The main objectives of the project are:

  • To provide quality used and re-conditioned furniture and other household goods, at low cost to people in need living in the area.
  • To reduce the amount of good quality furniture and other essential items ending up in landfill.
  • To provide quality volunteering and skills development opportunities for economically-inactive local people, to improve their employment prospects.

This project will make a significant contribution to measure 2.1 of the Skelmersdale People and Communities action plan, through the creation of a market led community enterprise and a number of local employment and skills development opportunities.

The Project will establish a much needed, local, sustainable Furniture Recycling community enterprise, that will provide a collection and delivery service for unwanted and/or donated household items.
